Another great night at a great venue.
After a welcoming speech from Richard Matthews the contest began on both snooker table and domino board. It was certainly the Dunelm Club’s night on both as wins from Tom McCully and Eddie Bliss, Dave Hodgson and Ray Bonarius, Matthew Nixon and Kenny Miller, Davy Smith and Ellis Rowe and Gary Milburn and Stan Colquhoun gave the Dunelm Club a 5-1 victory in the snooker, the point for the new club coming from Mr Thomas and Mr Eglington.
The score in the dominoes was the same 5-1 with victories for Tom McCully and Eddie Bliss, Dave Hodgson and Ray Bonarius, Peter Hammond and Tim Hardman, Davy Smith and Ellis Rowe and Gary Milburn and Stan Colquhoun, the solitary reply from Mr Widdall and Mr Tomlin.
This gave a total score of 10-2 which sounds easy but there were black ball fights in the snooker and last leg wins in the dominoes so the score could easily have been different.
The New Club gained a little revenge in the raffle in which they won all of the prizes.
Special mention has to go to Mike the steward for the fantastic buffet yet again the highlights were definitely the wonderful Satay sauce and also the Sausage Rolls which were huge and very tasty.
Both Captains Richard Matthews and Tom McCully commented on what a good night it was in their speeches and both looked forward to the next match in November when the Dunelm Club will be the hosts.
Thanks again Darlington for a great night.
